dreadhead geoff joins the accessibletoronto team !

hey all,

sorry for the long silence. i wanted to introduce the newest member of the accessibletoronto team – dreadhead geoff ! geoff is a queer disability studies student and activist at the university of toronto. he’s also an active blogger – his work can be found at living not existing. geoff’s work is centred around the intersections of madness, addictions and drug use, and disability studies. geoff is a strong ally to the community and has graciously offered to get involved in this project. we couldn’t be more happy to have him on board ! i encourage you to take the time to check out his blog – it’s pretty fantastic.

over the coming weeks and months geoff and i will be going full steam ahead on the accessibletoronto project, working on both accessibility audits in the city, organizing the project and getting more support for our work, and securing financial donations in order to maximize the potential of the project. if you’re interested in donating to the project, please check back soon – we will be setting up a site for online donations, as well as a mailing address to send in donations by cash or cheque. our first goal is to purchase an ipad mini to use for the accessibility audits, and a piece of software to fill out PDF forms to increase the accessibility of the audits. our fundraising goal for the ipad, case, and software is 400$. if you or anyone else you know may be able to make a donation, please check back here soon for more information on that ! thank you in advance for your support.
